We
had never attended to a cat Show, we didn't even know they existed . Nevertheless,
when we got Nippur, his breeder Mr. Eric Garza asked us to exhibit him at least
once in a cat Show because he considered him as the best cat breed by him.¡
By all means he was!. Nippur competed not only once but also in all shows they
had in 1996 in Mexico. To compete with him was a wonderful experience, ¡ we
always won ! In all shows, without exception, he was awarded as "Best Persian
cat" At the end of 1996 he was not only champion but also "Best Mexican breed"
( best cat born in Mexico ). And if it were not enough he was named "Cat of
the year. All these awards were won in good faith, six Shows, six triumphs .
His success was not a product of casualty but a product of his high quality
that never changed during that year. Thanks ¡ Nippurcito ! Same year Homero
competed in Premier-ship category (for neuter cats ) In six shows, he won First
place four times and he got enough points to be crowned as " Best cat premier-ship
of the year " the following year he also won the same title. Nippur never competed
again, ¿what for ? In a year he won everything a cat may award in Mexico . Today
Nippur is a magnificent sire and Homero is always playing and enjoying life.
I know some people will consider that I'm exaggerating , but the day Nippur
was named "CAT OF THE YEAR" was one of the best of my life. Thanks to all of
you who made it possible. |

Since May 9th , 1999
a new era of cat shows was born in Mexico, for the first time an Expocat
was held sponsored by Club Felino de Mexico, affiliated to Cat Fanciers´
Association made possible to have a Real International Show valid Internationally,
judge by judges also with an international carnet from Fife, Tica and
CFA, all of them feline associations not anymore by judges made overnight
in Mexico, who didn't know enough about show cats.
This show was a real success,
since then seven shows took place in Mexico and Queretaro and they have been
always better than the last one.
